I used to spend a lot of time by the ocean on a beautiful rocky point. At near sunset, the light coming thru the breaking waves was like gold lace. I videotaped the scene, and later decided to add music. I always loved "Late Winter, Early Spring" from John's music, it was so calming, just like those waves. That point of land was at Monterey, California. About a year after I taped those waves, and just 100 yards offshore from that point, we lost John. Miss you very much, my friend.

hi, i miss jd more than anything, very sorry to hear about your friend, true story, on oct 10 1997 i was laying on the hood of my car in yellowstone listening to jd cassettes after the greatest month of my life when i had my one and only premonition, i had the horrible feeling he was ill or dying, two days later after driving home to kc from yellowstone, i learned of his untimely death,he was the greatest songwriter, singer, humanitarian i ever knew

Yes, I miss him too. Beautiful song. I had the opportunity to see John twice in concert. Never have I heard such beauty and clarity in a person's voice. As a fan I lost John and a good friend of mine, also a JD fan, within days of each other- both in a plane crash, so listening to JD is a bittersweet experience for me, but I love it and all the wonderful causes he stood behind during his life.

Thanks for posting this. The Wildlife Concert was simply the best. John never sang better, and his emotion on this song had me in tears. Hell, it seems that I'm always in tears when I listen to him or watch his videos. He was a cut above, he will always be that cut above, and forever such a favourite of mine. How much is he missed at all!!!
