We're the Government -- and You're Not
What if the U.S. government released an "educational video" to teach today's Americans how to be good citizens?

@blaziermissy:What you said is that something the filmmaker said was "partially wrong," yet you claim to understand satire. What you REALLY mean is that you wish he had made a point that didn't happen to be his point. If you want to make that particular point, I hope you'll make a film of your own. But it's silly to call somebody "wrong" for not making what YOU would have made. This is clearly intended as entertainment, not dogmatic political propaganda.

I assure you i understand satire it's just that i wish the creator would bring up how the wealthy ride on the backbone of the middle class AND the poor, which most people are truly not aware of. Overall I liked it!

I've heard rumors that there are quite a few successful comedies more than 10 minutes long, but that might just be a rumor.

In satire, a writer is speaking in the "voice" of someone else, typically saying things WHICH HE KNOWS AREN'T TRUE. That's the POINT of satire and parody. You're normally making fun of what's being said. It seems to me that's the way this is. Doesn't government ultimately want us to see ALL productive people as wealthy? Those are the ones they turn the income tax burden on. Regardless, remember that a satiric voice is that of the character (government in this case), not the writer's own opinion.

Great video, except that Lesson 1 is partially wrong. Tom is middle class, not wealthy. Most lower middle class consider themselves middle class and most upper middle class, consider themselves wealthy. The wealthy elite DO NOT pay their portion of taxes b/c our elite ran system give tax loopholes for the rich. Tom, the middleclass, pays the rich peoples tax for them. The middle class then blame ALL on the poor, who pay sales tax, inflation (hidden tax) and never get ahead. Reality.
