What I see is it as is that he is in love with this girl but she kissed someone or maybe not. And he's just imaging her cheating on him and really visualizing it and its not true and its "all in his head" and the feeling is churning his stomach and driving him MAD but he doesn't know how to stop it. Basically, i've always taken it as a song about a guy whos broken up with a girlfriend reflecting and is doing his best to keep moving forward. At the same time she's now dating someone else and the jealousy is killing him but he has to keep reminding himself that it happened for a reason, destiny is calling him and to keep looking to the BRIGHTSIDE of the situation.story of my life lol
