Sanjaya Malakar sings "Besame Mucho." His sister Shyamali is in the audience with their mother, who is sitting on the other side of two scruffy guys. One is wearing a red shirt with white Urdu script, which says "Tides," which I believe is a brand of household appliances sold in Pakistan. That shirt might be a soccer, field hockey or cricket jersey.Sanjaya is the only contestant who sang a song with more than two words of Spanish. The theme was "Latin Night."

It's true. Some people who sing English songs like shit can actually do better with foreign music. If he had just stuck to singing in Spanish and calling Simon a pendejo every week he would have won American Idol.
