I have a 30 ton Northstar and it works great, I split a cord a week. T bird can split that by hand and then see who has it easier.

Why do you say that? It's just a time-tested hydraulic ram that you would find on hundreds of thousands of pieces of heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, aerial ladders, utility-company bucket trucks, etc. What's more, car mechanics work under this technology everyday!

i have an electric 4 ton its good but the 5 ton would have ben better for the knoty ones not bad for $300... ? size of finel log split works best in a fireplace THKS

Tim long time reader of your newspaper column home imp advice Great that you have videos now. Thank you Tim it looks like your spliiter is not level but the column looks like it on level Great video but vertical splitting is the best ever I bet an electric start would be nice. Sure would like to try out an electic splitter .I hate the fumes from the gasoline engines and pulling that cord Thanks
