For me his themes, lyrics, melodies, and spirit are timeless. Cat was a fine writer. One of the very best of his day. He, along with my personal favourite, Jackson Browne, are on level that is special. Whatever his (or anyone else's)religion is or isn't does not matter. It's about being a good person, a good citizen. Just my view. I for one am tired of intolerance and we all need to give a little bit.

First of all we should not taken in to count any mans belives if we dont like them or understand the belives. We should just listen to the words and for that CAT STEVENS was way ahead of his time in his songs. If we start to look at these peoples belives and judge them on that alone then we should stop going to the movies and listen to and rock band as they all have some weird belives.

I honstly feel hurt when people falsify information, espesically a guy like YI. He's a brilliant individual who has dedicated his life for people that need it most. We should be prasing him more than anything.In any case, we should look at the positive aspects of an idividual before we can even start to judge them.

Since his book went against the holy prophet, by islamic law, he could be killed. Yusuf just repeated what the law stated. He never said he belived he should be killed.

Ridiculous and unresearched? Son, no research involved. I didn't read about it, I watched it live. This man used his status as a celebrity to support the religious extreme calling for the murder of a human being for writing a book they didn't like. I threw out all of my Cat Stevens albums when he did that, and still feel the same way about him.Like I said, if you murder someone for writing a book you don't like, what's left?

thats ridiculous and un researched. they questioned him not on his personal views but on views of the religion if you asked a christian person about what the bible has to say on blasphemy they would've answered what their scripture says not their personal view. It was a hate campaign that was grossly manipulated.

All the musical talent in the worls doesn't make up for his calling for the murder of an author for writing a book he didn't like.If you murder people for writing books you don't like, what do you do if he rapes your sister?I wouldn't piss on this motherfucker if he was on fire.
